Costco Food Court : Brighton Location

Ever since I was a child, I always look forward to Costco's food court. There is nothing better than having fast food and loading up the cart with boxes and boxes of junk food as well as ice cream and popsicles, what kid would not be happy? Although I guess after growing up, the boxes of junk food become "healthier" crackers as well as cookies and the cart is filled with more fruit. However, the boxes of ice cream and popsicles remain the same!

During busier times it is a struggle finding a seat, but who really needs to sit when grabbing a quick bite? I even remember years ago when Costco never had half the amount of seats they do now!

SELF SERVE STATION.
There is a self serve station where all the napkins, plastic cutlery and garnishes for the hot dogs are. The selection includes mustard, ketchup, relish, onions and pickled jalapeño rings as well as pickles. Although I think Costco no longer carries jalapeño rings and pickles anymore though, since I never saw any a few recent visits.

1/4LB BEEF HOT DOG AND 20oz POP WITH REFILL ($1.50).
The hot dog is always a must order and because of the great price, there is nothing to complain about. I have never had a crappy hot dog once from here before. Okay fine, once I had a really rubbery hot dog and rock hard buns, not sure what happened there… As for the taste, the hot dog always tastes juicy as well as generic, and not too salty. Also a few years ago, Costco started offering a "polish sausage" but the taste is not the same or juicy.

CHICKEN STRIPS WITH FRIES ($5.99).
My friend wanted to go for their chicken strips and I always find them meh, especially if they have been sitting out for a while. In our case, the chicken has a crisp exterior but is served luke warm, and has a simple salt n' pepper seasoning. In addition, the meat tastes dry but that is also what the sauce is for. As for the fries, I really like Costco's! Especially when fresh, so good… probably because it is a childhood memory of mine. This time though, the fries taste soggy, cold and hard… but meh.

ICE CREAM CONE, VANILLA ($1.99).
Growing up, I liked their cones a lot but now I find them a bit too sweet. The soft serve also has a very heavy creamy flavour and I find them nothing special anymore.

Overall, Costco does the job for those who need a quick snack before grocery shopping.

POSITIVES
- Cheap fast food
- For those grocery shopping

NEGATIVES
- Some items can be sitting around for too long
- Self serve station is really dirty sometimes
- Limited seating (for those who care)

LITTLE THINGS
- Pizzas are not bad, the slices are huge

Food: 2.5/5
Value: 5/5
