Estea Beverage Club 生活小品 : Burnaby location

Continuing with my interest in finding a regular bubble tea joint to frequently visit, Estea Beverage Club was next on my list to try. There used to be a couple of other Estea locations in Burquitlam as well as Richmond, and both the restaurants have closed. The only Estea locations that appear to be surviving is the restaurant in Burnaby and an "express" location at the Aberdeen food court.

Walking in from the back, we seemed to have startled the owners and the wife immediately walked up to greet us. She was friendly and passed us off to the rest of the staff, where the rest of them greeted us as well.

Estea is a very large restaurant and is the largest bubble tea joint that I know of. There are plenty of seats and the seating arrangements are not cramped at all.

Come Along Seafood Restaurant 金龍船海鮮酒家 : Dim sum

REVISIT POST FOR DINNER AT COME ALONG [HERE]

I have been to Come Along in total, four times for dim sum (including this visit) and once for dinner. On the first visit, I left the restaurant pretttttty happy and thought the dim sum tasted delicious. The congee tasted amazing, had a nice thickened consistency and is served in a clay pot. Another memorable dish was the pan fried radish cake. The radish cake had a perfect crispy exterior and tasted soft on the inside. And the other usual dim sum dishes tasted average, not bad (chicken feet, spare ribs..).

On the second visit, dim sum was not so great. We were given the wrong congee and the manager kept insisting that we did have the correct pork and preserved egg congee. As he was stubborn and arrogant, he finally mixed the congee ten minutes later and noticed that the congee had clam meat and pickled vegetables.

Finally on the third visit for dim sum, the congee tasted horrible. The congee had an extremely thick consistency which we did not know was even possible. The shredded pork was clumped together and the congee was too hard to mix, it was not tasty either.

This will be my fourth visit to Come Along for dim sum and as much as I think they are the only restaurant with a 60% chance of serving perfectly crisp pan fried radish cake (which is a high percentage IMO), I will not make it a regular restaurant of mine. Also, service is an issue especially with one of the waitresses, she is pretty rude. Oh and for dinner, the food tastes average. The only personal complaint for dinner would be when a waiter was changing our plates, he threw two untouched crab legs out. What the heck right?

LOCAL SEASONAL VEGETABLES, SHANGHAI STEAMED BUNS, STEAMED CHICKEN FEET WITH BLACK BEAN SAUCE, STEAMED SPARERIBS WITH PUMPKIN, STIR FRIED RADISH CAKE WITH XO SAUCE, AND EGG TARTS.
