The Boathouse Restaurant : English Bay Location
The hostess led us up the staircase to the dining room, dropped off the menus and walked away. As I sat at the window seat, I could not help but think that Cactus Club across the street has a full house because their service is pretty top notch.

Tacofino White Lightning
The both of us have tried the Albacore Tuna Taco before from Tacofino's Orange Cantina Food Truck and Tacofino Commissary which we really like, but had no idea the White Lightning Truck does not offer them! As for the selection, the food truck offers a couple of tacos, a variety of burritos, and a chocolate diablo cookie. The prices range from $5.00-$11.00 with the higher items being burritos.Thursday, March 6, 2014

El Caracol Cafe
The restaurant is on the smaller side with only seven tables and the interior has bright orange coloured walls, yellow tables, with a counter resembles a cabana. In addition, there are a few nicknacks such as a Mexican pinata and a Japanese lucky cat. Furthermore, the restaurant has a case of jewellery for sale beside the pop machine and the back of the counter has DVDs available to purchase.Saturday, November 16, 2013
Onyx Steakhouse and Lounge : Port Moody location
"Our certified premium black angus signature reserve steaks are seasoned with our signature onyx rub and are a minimum of 40 day dry aged." Since the end of June I have visited the following steakhouses, Keg Coquitlam, Gotham, Chop, Hy's, Keg Burnaby, Joe Fortes and Little Billy's Steak House (uhhh does Hawkworth's $125.00 crappy steak count even though the restaurant is not a steakhouse?). With the idea of visiting every steakhouse, the next restaurant on the list was Onyx. Onyx is located in Port Moody and the restaurant's location somewhat resembles a mini neighbourhood with high rise apartments and a variety of stores.
After reading quite a few mixed reviews, I was hesitant on bringing BF here since he is against the whole "trying new restaurants", especially if most reviews are not good. However, I persuaded him to try Onyx because of a free coupon from their subscription for a free entree up to $20.00.
ONYX TUNA TACOS, 10oz FILET MIGNON, ROLLS, 16oz BONE IN RIB STEAK, MUSHROOMS DUO, CREAMED CORN AND BACON, AND BUTTERMILK CALAMARI.

The Boathouse Restaurant : White Rock location
After dim sum, BF and I spent the whole day looking for Seadoo floating devices from Broadway and Cambie, Canadian Tire, to Granville Island and we left empty handed. To make myself feel better I wanted gelato at Bella Gelateria (the best) but the line up was really long, out the door two blocks. Being disappointed again, we decided to go to the Boathouse in White Rock. It is my first time coming here and BF says it is his favourite Boathouse location. When we arrived, I wanted a seat on the deck since it was such a nice evening but because we did not make reservations, there was thirty minute wait. The hostess was friendly, genuine and apologetic for our wait which she did not need to be since we did not make any reservations. I feel like it is hard to come by hostesses and servers (in my opinion) who act like they care or even fake it (I honestly do not mind if they fake it because it is their job, any acknowledgment is nice).
