Finch's Tea & Coffee House

Last fall, C'est la vie Maggi asked to dine together and we ended up going to Five Guys Burgers & Fries. Ever since then, we have tried meeting again but due to our opposite schedules as I prefer starting my day as well as sleeping early and her, sleeping in and staying up late, always conflicted. So finally half a year later, we both agreed to meet up for lunch! After suggesting quite a few places then cancelling and changing my mind LOL, I remembered always wanting to try Finch's and made up my mind on the morning of. Fortunately Maggi is easy going and really does not care where we go.

Our date was for 1:00pm and of course, me being a granny, was there on time while Maggi was stuck in traffic and could not make it until 1:30pm. To prevent her tartiness for making me impulse shop, I wanted to grab some donuts at Cartems and a conveniently located at the time $2.85 Burger. However, I thought it was best not to spoil my appetite and settled for a Mighty Kale from Jugo Juice. Fortunately I made the right choice as she was only fifteen minutes late! Walking in with my drink and feeling guilty it was from Jugo Juice rather than Finch's, Maggi was more than happy to change her previously by the counter seat to a farther away window seat.

After settling down, we walked to the counter and spoke with a friendly as well as helpful clerk and ordered our sandwiches. When the food is ready, a staff member calls out the customer's name and hands them their order. Finch's Tea & Coffee House is a small cafe with only less than ten seats available and I assume most people grab take out. The interior is cute, dainty as well as rustic and has a relaxing atmosphere, un-rushed.

Tasty Indian Bistro

Heading to Surrey for a supply inventory sale, BF and I finally had the chance to visit an Indian cuisine restaurant he has been raving about for quite a while, at least a year. A few of our friends have mentioned Tasty Indian is one of the better Northern Indian cuisine restaurants in Surrey and of course, the interior looks modern. Walking up to the restaurant, I knew what that meant. Tasty Indian has a chain restaurant vibe like Cactus Club and Joey, with two hostesses waiting to greet diners and a dimly lit interior. The restaurant is spacious with comfortable seating arrangements and patio seating is available as well, a very not so typical Indian cuisine restaurant. Tasty Indian seems like the restaurant to be for those who prefer dining in a "nicer" atmosphere or to impress out of town guests. As for me, I am more about the food than atmosphere but do enjoy having a comfortable dining space.

PLAIN RICE, LAMB VINDALOO, BUTTER CHICKEN, TANDOORI CHICKEN, PRAWN SAHI MASALA AND GARLIC NAAN.

Sushi & (2nd/3rd visit)

A post I have been procrastinating is my revisit to Sushi & because the dinner was not as good as the first. On the revisit, the restaurant was busier and although there were plenty of available tables prior to an hour before closing, we got stuck in a corner where it was hard to get noticed. After settling down, our waitress mentioned that any order of nigiri or rolls will take at least twenty minutes, which I appreciate for letting us know in advance.

EDIT - I was not expecting a third visit but since it happened, it is combined with the revisit and starts at the end of my post.

For someone who claims there is nothing to really eat on Victoria Drive and loves herbal as well as ginseng soup, how could I have never heard of 湯.com?! And for someone who loves clay pot rice… how has BF never heard about this place?! After posting a photo of dinner from Cindy's Palace on Instagram stating I only went there for the herbal soup, a follower of mine suggested 湯.com! The restaurant is fairly small and has around ten seats. Coming for a late lunch, the restaurant was empty and we did not have to worry about a line up.

Wow, look how heavy the rain is! After finishing dinner with my parents, I was craving for some fish n' chips and met up with a friend at C-Lovers Fish & Chips. C-Lovers is a fast food chain restaurant that serves made to order fish n' chips and features an all you can eat menu as well! The restaurant was fairly empty when we walked in but quite a few people came for take out. The all you can eat menu comes with unlimited fish n' chips and bottomless pop, just like Cockney Kings.
