Sea Harbour Seafood Restaurant 海港大酒樓

Sea Harbour Seafood is located in Richmond across from the River Rock Casino. Also, a recommendation from my friends as the "best" place for dim sum. BF has been here quite a few times but this is my first. Apparently the restaurant gets busy and despite making reservations, there will still be a wait. Fortunately we were lucky and did not have reservations or need to wait. Walking in, the chandelier and high ceiling caught my attention.

SHRIMP DUMPLINGS WITH SCALLOPS AND TOBIKO, RICE NOODLES WRAPPED WITH EGG, SHARK'S FIN SOUP AND DUMPLING, WINE CHICKEN, CHICKEN FEET, SHRIMP DUMPLINGS, BEEF TRIPE, PRESERVED EGG AND PORK CONGEE, EGG TARTS, TARO AND SALTED EGG YOLK AND EGGPLANT STUFFED WITH PASTE.

WINE CHICKEN (OFF THE MENU). The chicken has a light mild wine taste compared to Top Shanghai Cuisine's and does not taste very tender, although not overly chewy either. For the presentation, the missing pieces of skin does not look very appealing.

TARO WITH SALTED EGG YOLK. Apparently this is a must order dish at Sea Harbour. Salted egg yolks wrapped with flaky taro. I am not a fan and it tastes like what it is… a salted egg yolk wrapped with taro. A personal preference but I only prefer salted egg yolks in Chinese moon cakes.

EGGPLANT STUFFED PASTE. The paste tastes light as well as fluffy, has a nice slight crispy exterior and does not taste salty or oily, I like it. Next, the eggplant tastes tender, moist and quite tasty. The dish does not taste overwhelming saucy and is properly made.

PRESERVED EGG AND PORK CONGEE, AND DEEP FRIED TARO. The congee is served in a clay pot, tastes healthy, smooth and very home cooked, others may consider it bland. Next, the deep fried taro has a flaky exterior and the taro filling tastes average, no complaints or raves.

SHARK'S FIN SOUP AND DUMPLING. The soup tastes very rich and flavourful but the dumpling does not taste good. The dumpling has an imitation crab stick, vegetables and is nothing special. Most people I know only eat the shark's fin and leaves the dumpling if it tastes crappy, but I find that wasteful.

RICE NOODLES WRAPPED WITH EGG. The rice noodles taste soft and the scrambled egg tastes fluffy. I am not a fan of this but it is properly made.

BEEF TRIPE, SHRIMP DUMPLINGS, SHRIMP DUMPLINGS WITH SCALLOP AND TOBIKO, AND CHICKEN FEET. The beef tripe tastes quite good with a nice chewiness and does not taste overly saucy or salty. Next, the shrimp dumplings and shrimp dumplings with scallop has a decent amount of shrimp and the skin is not too thick or thin. And last, the chicken feet is extremely saucy (which most people may prefer?) and tastes average.

EGG TARTS. I forgot to take an individual photo of the egg tarts and if I cropped the photo, it would have looked too blurry. The egg tart has a nice flaky crust and the filling does not taste overly sweet. I made a good choice to save these for the end!

POSITIVES
- Nice interior
- Average eats

NEGATIVES
- Pricier dishes
- Service is slow

LITTLE THINGS
- No mango dessert?!
- No fresh orange juice
- We waited quite a long time to get the bill. The restaurant was not that busy and the cashiers kept talking to each other which is not a big deal, but we had to wait thirty minutes for the bill
- I would probably enjoy their dinner more

Food: 2.5/5
Service: 2/5
