Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana

All our pizzas are hand stretched and baked for approximately 90 seconds in our 900 degree wood-fired oven creating a pizza that has a light and fluffy crust with a crispy edge and charred spots. True to the Neapolitan way, our pizzas arrive at the table uncut to preserve the soft thin centre and toppings. Neapolitan pizza is traditionally enjoyed either with a fork and knife or ripped and folded and eat by hand.

That awkward late lunch or early dinner when you have not ate anything all day. Yup, happened to me and it was 5:00pm. Although fortunately being in the area and that Vie Tevere opens at 5:00pm, it actually worked out! Vie Tevere is known for their neapolitan pizzas (although I was told otherwise on Instagram) and apparently the restaurant gets busy, as in there are always long line ups! Luckily arriving right at opening, there was no line up. The neapolitan pizza joint has a relaxing atmosphere and is not that big, with less than thirty seats.

PASTA DEL GIORNO, PASTA OF THE DAY. MUSHROOM, RIGATONI, PROSCUITTO IN A LIGHT CREAM SAUCE ($14.00).
The rigatoni tastes undercooked and a bit too hard. As for the light cream sauce, there is a heavy saltiness from the prosciutto as well as parmesan, and I could have used some more sauce since the pasta was dry. If anything, the disappointment is definitely the undercooked pasta.

PROSCIUTTO E RUCOLA, TOMATO SAUCE, PROSCIUTTO, FIOR DE LATTE AND ARUGULA($16.00).
For a pre-dinner meal, fortunately we stuck with only ordering one pizza! Before ordering, our waitress mentioned the pizzas are quite small, and for someone who can eat a lot… I find the portion more than perfect for one. So, it was great to share just one between the two of us. The crust has a nice chewiness as well as a charred taste and if anything, could have been crispier. As for the toppings, there is a good amount, not too much or little, and the arugula provides a nice refreshing taste. The only issue however, is that the middle of the pizza is past soft, therefore mushy as well as soggy. And although it is not a big deal to me since I enjoy any kind of pizza, it could have been better especially for a place that specializes in them.

EVOO WITH BASIL EXTRACT AND HOT CHILLI PEPPER.
TOTAL: $34.65 + TIP $6.35 = $41.00.

Overall we tipped 18% because our waitress was friendly and checked up on us a few times. As for the food, I did have higher expectations since we walked in assuming the restaurant serves one of the better neapolitan pizzas. However after posting the photos on Instagram, a few people mentioned similar experiences regarding soggy pizzas here as well.
