The Grainery Cafe

After having lunch at Sushi Gen, I had a really bad stomachache! Of course unrelated to the food, it was probably from eating too fast. Being in the area, I thought some soup would help. Grainery Cafe is located in Lougheed Mall and serves soup, salad, sandwiches, pies and other homemade goodies.

CREAM CORN SOUP AND CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP.

CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP ($5.60). The soup has a large amount of noodles and some pieces of carrot, celery and canned chicken. The broth has a slight chicken taste but tastes a bit salty and generic, nothing special. A side of four crackers are included and is a pretty generous amount IMO.

CREAM CORN SOUP ($5.60). The soup has a corn as well as bacon taste (no bacon pieces though) and tastes a tiny bit rich but not creamy - again, nothing special and tastes meh.

POSITIVES
- Clean and comfortable dining space that is separate from the food court
- Average eats (baked goods are below average for picky eaters)

NEGATIVES
- Considering the price, there are a lot better cafes

LITTLE THINGS
- If you are in the area and want a healthier sandwich over Quiznos or Subway?

Food: 2.5/5
Service: 2.5/5
