XIAO LONG BAO, FRIED PORK WITH GREEN PEPPER, DRAGGING NOODLES WITH BEEF AND VEGETABLES IN SOUP, CHICKEN WITH SPECIAL HOT SAUCE, BEEF PANCAKE AND STEAMED PORK AND CHINESE BOK CHOY DUMPLINGS.
FRIED PORK WITH GREEN PEPPER ($10.95) + STEAMED RICE ($1.00).
DRAGGING NOODLES WITH BEEF AND VEGETABLES IN SOUP ($6.95).
The soup tastes clear as well as healthy and has a rich flavourful pork and beef broth. My choice of noodle is the dragging noodle which tastes fresh and soft with a slight chewiness. As for the meat, rather than chunks of beef brisket, slices of beef shank is used. The slices of beef shank taste extremely tender, tasty and melts in the mouth. Also, the cilantro provides a nice refreshing taste.
BEEF PANCAKE ($3.95).
The pancake tastes crispy and has a beef with green onion taste. We ordered this by accident and are not a fans, however this is properly made.
STEAMED PORK AND CHINESE BOK CHOY DUMPLINGS ($6.95). The dumplings are Northern Chinese style and has a thicker than usual skin, but not as thick as Taiwanese dumplings. The filling tastes moist, juicy and flavourful but unfortunately the skin dried up a bit too fast (which can be avoided for those who eat them fast!).
XIAO LONG BAO
STEAMED DUMPLINGS, PORK WITH GINGER AND SAVOURY SAUCE ($4.50). The XLBs taste extremely juicy and delicious. The meat has a good amount of fatty pork and tastes smooth as well as flavourful, with a nice strong hint of ginger. Also, the skin has a nice thinness but again like the dumplings, dries out too fast.
