REVISIT POST ON DALLAS 2 FOR 1 [HERE]
This is one our favourite places for roast lamb and we declare that Dallas 2 For 1 is always consistent. Asides from their roast lamb (which not many people are aware of), the fast food establishment offers a variety of Greek cuisine dishes along with pizza. The "2 For 1" refers to the pizza.
Most people usually grab take out though because it is not well ventilated inside and there are not much seating arrangements.
ROAST LAMB WITH POTATO, RICE, PITA BREAD ($15.99) AND CAESAR SALAD ($1.00).
The owners packed our food nicely and thought it was for take out, but we ate in. Look wise, there are some inconsistencies regarding the char on the pita along with the portion of roast lamb. But taste wise, everything tastes the same (excluding the charring on the pita!).
Of course, I grabbed the better looking pita along with the larger portion of roast lamb! The meat is very tender and tastes fairly juicy. I remember the roast lamb tasting better on my last visit here though, but it could probably be because I had a snack at Vera's Burger and Bella's Pizza earlier.
As for the Caesar salad, it is heavily dressed and lacks that usual "Caesar" flavour. I personally prefer the Greek salad over the Caesar. But regardless, another highlight excluding the roast lamb are the potatoes. The potatoes are crispy on the outside but remain soft (not mushy). There is lots of tanginess from the lemon too.
The owners at Dallas 2 For 1 are very friendly and the food appears to be a home cooked recipe. It does take about fifteen to twenty minutes for the roast lamb to be ready however. Although on our visit, we saw a few people come in for gyros which took around the same time so I assume the food is fresh and made to order which is great.
